Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid To Open April 2021
Following a three-year restoration and the most extensive in its 110-year history, Madrid’s iconic Ritz hotel will reopen as Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid in April 2021.
The hotel’s renovation includes a full restoration of the glass cupola over the Palm Court, the first time that this will be visible to guests in 80 years. Key in redesigning the hotel, Spanish architect Rafael de La-Hoz and the French designer duo Gilles & Boissier collaborated closely to preserve the striking Belle Époque character of the original building, in keeping with the original spirit conceived by Cesar Ritz.
Spain’s capital has over 40 museums and Mandarin Oriental is perfectly situated within walking distance from the Prado Museum, Museo Nacional Central de Arte Reina Sofia and Thyssen – Bornemisza from its location in the Golden Triangle of Art area. Additionally, guests can wander the Paseo del Prado, the oldest garden in Madrid.
